Pilot & Planes

    Carolina Aviation Academy (CAA), LLC is owned & operated by Andrew Tate.  He is an FAA Certified Flight Instructor (3288483CFI) trained to fly and instruct in single and multiengine piston-powered airplanes.  He is a former college biology and marine biology professor. 

CAA is committed to providing convenient, safe and affordable flight instruction in the NC Triangle region. 

Single Engine Training
Our primary single engine trainer is N25754, a C-152 II.  This aircraft is an ideal primary trainer and affordable platform for instrument training.  It has less than 250 hrs. on a Mattituck engine overhaul.  It has new paint, new leather seats and carpet, recent three color paint, and newly overhauled avionics.  

Multiengine Training
Multiengine training is provided in N6992Y, a Piper PA23-250 Aztec.  This airplane is one of the best equipped Aztec's available.  It has newly overhauled engines, new paint and interior, and a Garmin Avionics package including a 430WAAS.

Complex Transitions
Complex training for commercial certificates, and advanced IFR training is provided in a comfortable, efficient, and well-equipped Rockwell Commander 112 that was recently refurbished, including new paint and interior.
